The weeping cherry trees here are beyond beautiful, especially when the sunlight hits the soft pink blossoms, making the whole tree seem to glow! 🌸✨

Why is it so special?

Location: Nestled amidst Kyoto’s modern buildings, stepping into 六角堂 feels like stepping into another world. It’s the perfect blend of traditional temple beauty and the urban vibe of Kyoto.
Weeping Cherry Trees: The branches of the cherry trees hang almost to the ground, creating a waterfall-like effect. Perfect for a dreamy photo where you can feel “swallowed by the blossoms.” 🌿
Photography Tips: It's a great spot for portrait photography! The cherry trees are close enough for you to sit under and capture that perfect shot. Rokudo-do is one of the rare places where you can approach the flowers so closely. 🌸📸
Best time to visit?

We visited around March 30, 2025 and found it to be stunning, though crowded around midday. Arriving early in the morning (before 8 AM) gives you a chance to enjoy the tree and take pictures in the morning light before the crowds come.
It's currently entering the sakura snow stage, so if you hurry, you can witness the petals falling like snow! 🌸❄️
Bonus: Right next to 六角堂 is Kyoto’s most beautiful Starbucks—you can grab a coffee and soak in the view after your photoshoot! ☕🌿
