Kinkakuji in winter — golden temple, snowy views, and peaceful mornings

Kinkakuji Temple is easy to reach by bus 204 or 205 and absolutely beautiful in every season. Nearby, you’ll find great restaurants and it’s just a short walk from the Kyoto Museum for World Peace.

Winter is my favorite time to visit — the contrast of gold, snow, and green trees is stunning. Go in the morning to avoid the crowds!
