Senbon Torii (Thousand Torii Gates)

Senbon Torii (Thousand Torii Gates) is a famous spot at Fushimi Inari Taisha Shrine in Kyoto.
The sight of rows of vermilion torii gates line the mountain path, forming a tunnel from the shrine grounds to the summit of Mount Inari. In fact, there are over 10,000 torii gates, donated by individuals and companies for business prosperity and prayers.

Key sightseeing points:
• The Senbon Torii area near the entrance is the most famous and busiest.
• It takes about two hours round trip to the summit, but you can get a panoramic view of Kyoto city from teahouses and observation decks along the way.
• Early mornings and evenings are less crowded, making it easier to enjoy the mystical atmosphere.
• While some lights are on at night, the mountain path is dark, so caution is advised.
