Missing the times we went crazy and laughed together? This time, let’s form a group and head to Lhasa! Please keep this exclusive guide.
Accommodation Recommendation: Pingcuo Kangsang Youth Hostel
Located near the Potala Palace, Pingcuo Kangsang is our “home” in Lhasa. It’s one of the liveliest hostels in Lhasa, with walls full of travelers’ messages and photos, full of stories. Certified by the International Youth Hostel Association, it guarantees safety and hygiene. The best part is the rooftop viewing deck—sip a cup of sweet tea in the morning while watching the sunrise over the Potala Palace; at night, under a sky full of stars, we sit cross-legged and chat until we’re satisfied.
Itinerary (3-4 days)
Day 1: Arrive in Lhasa and acclimate to the high altitude. After checking in at Pingcuo Kangsang, don’t rush to explore. Enjoy butter tea at the hostel, make new friends, and join a group dinner of Tibetan cuisine in the evening to recharge for tomorrow.
Day 2: Classic Lhasa Tour
In the morning, visit the Potala Palace (remember to book in advance). In the afternoon, follow the flow of pilgrims around Barkhor Street and feel the power of faith at Jokhang Temple. In the evening, find a sweet tea house and spend a leisurely time like a local.
Day 3: Surroundings of Lhasa
Carpool to Yamdrok Lake, where the most beautiful plateau road is a scenic attraction itself. Hang prayer flags and scatter lungta by the lakeside to bless each other. After returning to Lhasa, share photos at Pingcuo Kangsang for an unforgettable night.
Day 4: Namtso One-Day Tour
If you have the energy, head to Namtso—the world’s highest saltwater lake. The Nyenchen Tanglha Mountains reflected in the lake are breathtakingly beautiful. Return in the evening and write postcards at the hostel to send to your future self.
Practical Tips
· Take Rhodiola in advance, slow down your pace, and relax your mind
· Sunscreen! Sunscreen! Sunscreen!
· Pingcuo Kangsang offers carpooling and ticket services, safe and convenient
Life needs a moment of fearless departure, and the most beautiful scenery is experienced together with like-minded friends. Lhasa, we won’t miss each other!
