Hainan Family Travel Guide｜Bookmark it, a must-have for summer vacation travel

As my sisters all know, I take ILLA to Hainan for over a week every year💃. Lingshui, a must-visit spot for family trips in Hainan, never fails to impress. The singing Qingshui Bay is less crowded and beautiful❤️, the sand is very fine, and on sunny days☀️ you can see the jelly-like sea🌊. The local snacks fill the gap in the food desert❗️

🌟About the Weather🌞
Hainan’s weather is quite distinctive. In terms of temperature🌡️, Haikou is cooler than Wanning, Wanning is cooler than Lingshui, and Lingshui is a few degrees cooler than Sanya. Overall, Lingshui’s weather is super comfortable💃.
⚠️No need to worry about rain; it usually stops quickly. Lingshui doesn’t have much rainy weather.

🌟About Transportation🚗
Lingshui has no airport✈️, so you can fly to Sanya or Haikou and then take the high-speed train🚅. Sanya Airport is a bit closer❤️.
⚠️Transportation in Lingshui is not very convenient, so renting a car and driving yourself is recommended🚕

🌟About Accommodation🏨
✅It’s recommended to stay near Qingshui Bay. The beach there is beautiful🏖️, with many family-friendly hotels, perfect for traveling with kids. Also, Yingzhou Town and Xincun Night Market have lots of food options and are quite convenient.
✅If you want to experience beachcombing or fishing with traps, you can go to Lian Town, but most accommodations there are homestays.
✅Fenjiezou Island is close to Xiangshui Bay and Lian Town, but personally, I find it so-so. Unless you are very passionate about scenery, it’s not very meaningful to visit.

🌟About Family Activities🎡
1️⃣ Beachcombing and fishing with traps
2️⃣ Picking dragon fruit, mangoes🥭, and passion fruit
3️⃣ Guixinju (not highly recommended, small and expensive)
4️⃣ Digging sand and going to Qingshui Bay beach🏖️. Navigate🧭 to Whisper Hotel🏨, where there’s a small beach train that kids love💕

🌟About Food🍽️
You can go to Xincun Night Market and Yingzhou Night Market. For dishes like coconut chicken and herb duck, find local restaurants and avoid the trendy spots—they’re small portions and expensive❗️

📌Tips
✔️Hainan’s UV rays are very strong, so even on cloudy days, remember to wear sunscreen🌞.
✔️For baby swimsuits, avoid sleeveless ones. You can refer to ILLA’s style, the Zoke long-sleeve sun-protection Melody swimsuit, which lets kids play in the water worry-free💦.
✔️Lingshui is more suitable for family trips than Sanya, and hotels are not expensive—about half the price of Sanya’s.
