Fresh back from Lingshui, let me share my suggestions and experiences:
1️⃣ Lingshui has no airport. You can fly to Haikou or Sanya first, then take a high-speed train or drive to Lingshui. The newly opened Hainan Sanyue Hotel I booked offers airport shuttle service, taking only 40 minutes.
2️⃣ Hainan is extremely sunny - sun protection is a must! Recommend staying at the hotel during daytime and going out after 4pm.
3️⃣ At Nanwan Monkey Island, don't open backpacks or hold snacks in hand to avoid monkey snatching.
4️⃣ For Hainan specialties, visit Yingzhou Farmers Market.
5️⃣ For night markets, Xincun Night Market is recommended, offering local snacks and nationwide delicacies.
6️⃣ Book hotels immediately after finalizing itinerary, especially during peak summer season, to avoid sold-out situations or price surges.
7️⃣ Recommend staying in Tufu Bay area - close to Haitang Bay and convenient for duty-free shopping! The Sanyue Hotel I stayed at is located here, with surprisingly good experience for a new property👍
I was instantly captivated by its architecture upon arrival - the main building resembles a moon floating on sea, while the kids' hotel looks like a spaceship, super cool. The lobby features amazing futuristic lighting effects.
The sea-view room was spacious with fantastic views - I could see the ocean right from bed. The bathroom has separate wet/dry areas, double vanities, and my favorite L'Occitane amenities, plus considerate mini laundry detergent and first-round free minibar👍
So many fun facilities! 4 themed pools including:
- The 21st-floor Moon Terrace's 80m-high suspended glass pool with transparent bottom (thrilling!)
- Nearly 100m-long infinity pool atop kids' hotel (perfect for photos)
- Tropical rainforest water park downstairs with kid-friendly slides and over a dozen water slides - fun for all ages.
The hotel also has a 350m private beach with fine sand and clear water - perfect for sandplay, swimming and sunbathing.
Dining options are plentiful:
- Laurel All-Day Restaurant serves diverse breakfast buffet until 11am (try their bottled fresh juices and healthy pretzel bread!)
- Dinner offers premium BBQ buffet and hotpot, featuring giant oysters.
- Moon Palace Restaurant on 20F specializes in Huaiyang and innovative cuisine with 270° sea views. Must-try dish: "Snowflake Fish Maw with Moonlight".
Across the street is Nanyang Town with various options including Zaocuo Vinegar Hotpot, Coconut Chicken, Herbal Duck, plus KFC and convenience stores.
