Stone Slate Town's Stone Architecture

Stone Slate Town is located in the western part of Linzhou City, Anyang, Henan Province, and is famous for its unique stone architecture, especially the houses built with stone slabs, showcasing the wisdom and cultural heritage of the local residents.
The walls of the houses are made from cut slate, with the interior walls coated with wheat straw mud and white lime mud, keeping them warm in winter and cool in summer.
The roofs are laid with irregular thin stone slabs in a staggered manner, forming natural tiles that blend seamlessly with the Taihang Mountains' natural landscape.
Supporting facilities such as stone streets, stone courtyards, stone walls, and stone stairs are all sourced locally, forming a complete stone slab housing complex.
Stone slab houses are iconic dwellings in the Taihang Mountain area. In 2019, Shibanyan Village was recognized as a National Forest Village, and in 2021, the town was selected as one of the first key national rural tourism towns.
The local folk song "Stone Stairs, Stone Buildings, Stone Slab Houses" vividly describes the stone-featured residential culture.
Stone Slate Town has become a rural tourism hotspot by upgrading infrastructure and developing a distinctive homestay industry.
