2024 Liuba Travel Guide

Liuba is a hidden gem deep in the Qinling Mountains. Its autumn is like a colorful and breathtaking painting. November is the best time to enjoy the autumn scenery. The best way to experience autumn is to drive from Beijing to Hanzhong and then drive to Liuba.

The best route in Liuba is a loop, and it takes at least two days to see everything. We recommend a leisurely three-day, two-night trip. We did a two-day, one-night trip with photos, which was a bit rushed. We found two beautiful redwood forests along the way. Tickets are required for Zibai Mountain National Forest Park and Zhangliang Temple, but not for other places. The scenery is beautiful everywhere. If it rains the day before, you will be lucky enough to see a sea of clouds. Gaojiang Road winds through the depths of the Qinling Mountains and is known as the most beautiful mountain village road. There are also thousand-year-old ginkgo trees in many places in Liuba. The oldest one is about 4,000 years old and is the last one to turn golden in autumn.

Liuba has put a lot of effort into welcoming the large number of tourists who come to see the autumn scenery. There are many parking spots along the way, which is great. Most of them are free, so visitors can get closer to the beautiful scenery.

We stayed at the Trip.com Farmhouse (Liuba Qinling No. 1 Joint Venture Store) along the most beautiful road. We rented a courtyard with two floors, which was very private. It felt like we had a big house in the countryside.

November is the most beautiful time in Liuba, and it's hard to find a room. There aren't many courtyards that can accommodate so many people. There is a large living room where we ate and chatted with friends. Each courtyard has an aunt who cooks authentic farmhouse dishes, which are as good as those made by restaurant chefs. Before we arrived, the housekeeper aunt had already turned on the air conditioning for us, so it was warm when we entered the house. It was so nice.
