Transportation Guide

- Self-driving: Departing from Guiyang, take the Hukun Expressway and Shuipan Expressway, exit at Yuge/Wumeng Grassland, then follow the tourist road directly to the Wumeng Grassland Scenic Area. The whole trip takes about 3.5-4 hours; from Kunming, take the Hukun Expressway and exit at Panzhou/Hongguo North, about 3-3.5 hours to reach the scenic area.

- Public transportation: You can first take the high-speed train to Panzhou Station, then take a direct shuttle bus to Wumeng Grassland; alternatively, go to Liupanshui West Bus Station and transfer to a bus heading to Pingdi to reach Wumeng Grassland.

- Wumeng Grassland: Located in Panzhou City, Guizhou, it is the largest natural grassland in Southwest China, with an elevation of 2000-2857 meters. It features 100,000 mu of grassland, 40,000 mu of rhododendron forest, and a heavenly lake. From April to May, you can enjoy a sea of rhododendron flowers, and in winter, experience skiing.

- Jiucaiping: Located in Dawan Town, Liupanshui City, Guizhou, it is the highest peak of the Wumeng Mountain range in Guizhou, with an elevation of 2900.6 meters. From August to September, tens of thousands of wild chive flowers bloom. You can reach the summit by cable car or hiking.

- Weining Caohai: Located in Weining County, Guizhou, it is a world-class wetland. From November to March, it is a wintering ground for black-necked cranes. You can experience unique activities such as Yi fishermen rowing boats to collect grass.

- Roasted lamb chops/roasted lamb leg: Made from locally raised mountain goats, with crispy and fragrant skin and tender, juicy meat.

- Rosa roxburghii original juice/rosa roxburghii wine: Local specialties rich in vitamin C, the original juice is sweet and sour and refreshing, and the wine is mellow and slightly intoxicating.

- Potato baba: Made from Weining’s specialty potatoes, crispy on the outside and soft inside, served with chili powder or fish mint dipping sauce.

- Yi-style lamb offal soup: A milky white broth simmered for 24 hours with lamb bones, added lamb offal, and flavored with mint to remove the gamey taste, warming the stomach and driving out cold.
