Niupu Mudstone Soil and Water Conservation Education Park: A Magical Journey from Moon World to Dreamy Oasis

A barren wasteland transformed into an ecological classroom

Located in Longqi, Tainan, the Niupu Mudstone Soil and Water Conservation Education Park was once a desolate mudstone badland, known for its soft geology and susceptibility to erosion, earning it the nickname "Taiwan's Moon World." Since 1998, ecological engineering methods have been employed to restore the area, transforming it into a vibrant oasis and an important venue for soil and water conservation and environmental education.

The poetic scenery of Dream Lake and its floating pavilion

The park's Dream Lake is named after its uniquely designed pavilion. Built atop a 12-meter-high vertical pipe, the pavilion appears to float on the lake during the rainy season when the water level rises, creating a surreal and dreamlike scene. The 1-kilometer-long trail around the lake features six themed interpretation stations, such as "Remembering the Source" and "Blooming Oasis," allowing visitors to learn about soil and water conservation while enjoying a leisurely stroll.

A natural teaching paradise for families

The park offers a variety of environmental education programs, such as "Niupu Little Adventurers," suitable for all ages. These programs use hands-on observation and interactive learning to enhance understanding of land conservation. Additionally, as part of the Siraya National Scenic Area, the park combines natural landscapes with cultural resources, making it an ideal destination for family outings, learning, and relaxation.
