If you are visiting Macau for the first time, the first place you should visit is Senado Square. This square, which beautifully retains traces of Portugal, is the heart of Macau and is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The moment you step into the square, you will feel as if you have entered a European city. The wavy black and white floor tiles, antique buildings, and colorful exteriors are impressive, and the cute shops, cafes, and Portuguese signs here and there create an exotic atmosphere.

The area centered around Senado Square is all registered as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. As you walk along the square, you will naturally come across major landmarks such as St. Dominic's Cathedral, the Ruins of St. Paul's Cathedral, and the Macau Museum, allowing you to experience Macau's rich history, religion, and cultural diversity firsthand.

Although it is beautiful during the day, the square is lit up in the evening, offering a different charm. Take pictures with the fountain in the background, or sneak into the alleys surrounding the square to find plenty of great photo spots!

There are small bakeries selling Macau-style egg tarts nearby, as well as traditional Portuguese restaurants. There are also many shops where you can buy souvenirs or simple fashion items, making it a great course for walking and shopping.

The best time to visit is between 10 a.m. and noon. On sunny days, you can take picturesque pictures.
The best time to visit the square is on foot. Comfortable shoes are a must!
