Macau 🇲🇴Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall: Step into a historical mansion

On Rua da Vendéce in Macau, a Moorish-style building stands quietly. Once the residence of Sun Yat-sen's wife, Madame Lu, it now serves as a museum dedicated to historical memory.
🌿 Front Courtyard and Atrium
Lush greenery evokes a fusion of history and nature.
🏠Interior of the Former Residence
Entering the house, one feels transported back to the early years of the Republic of China. A large inscription reads "天下为公" (The World for All) comes into view. The rooms display Sun Yat-sen's personal belongings, and yellowed photographs adorn the walls, evoking his deep connection to Macau.
🕌Moorish Architecture
The distinctive horseshoe arches, vaults and domes, atriums and open spaces, and the glazed tiles and stone carvings on the floor are all worth a closer look.
📸Corridor
The long corridor is bathed in sunlight, which slants across the tiles, creating a play of light and shadow.
🛁Bathroom
This space is unexpectedly striking. Simple yet elegant, it reveals the details and tastes of life at the time. History resides not only in major events but also in these traces of daily life.
