#TravelPlan 🌿✨ Take Mom away from the city and head to the mountains... Let's head to Mae Kampong! ✨🌿
This trip, we planned to take Mom on a relaxing, unhurried getaway, so we chose "Mae Kampong," a village in the valley that we've visited many times and never tire of. 🍃
The weather is truly wonderful right now—warm during the day, not too hot, and cool and refreshing at night. Mom even said, "This is the kind of weather you can live in all year round." ☺️
🚗 It's very easy to get to. It takes just over an hour from Chiang Mai city, with views of mountains, forests, and refreshing greenery all along the way. Once you reach the village, you'll see many small cafes and cafés hidden by the stream for you to stop by.
🍛 The food here is a foodie paradise.
They serve authentic Northern Thai cuisine like Sai Ua (Northern Thai sausage), Nam Prik Num (Northern Thai chili paste), and Hang Le curry, or even hot, sweet, bua loy (spicy dumplings). In the evening, don't forget to stop at Mae Kampong Walking Street, where you can find a wide variety of food, from savory dishes to traditional desserts. We guarantee you'll lose track of time.
🙏 We took Mom to pay respects at the Ubosot (ordination hall) in the middle of the Mae Kampong River, a sacred and peaceful place. The gentle sound of flowing water wafted around us, as if nature was soothing our souls and calming our minds.
☕️ Next, we stopped at Bualoy, a small riverside cafe with the perfect breeze. The only sound was the water and the wind. My mother said it was "a paradise for those who love peace and quiet."
🏡 Our accommodation for the night was Woo Ma Ca Moo, a luxurious homestay with a beautiful view and an on-site cafe. Even if you're not staying, you can stop by for a coffee, take some beautiful photos, or just sit and listen to the sound of the flowing water in private. If you prefer simplicity yet style, this place is perfect for you.
💚 A short trip filled with smiles from my mother and joy from my son. It felt like resetting my life in the valley.
