Qinghai Qaidam 5-Day Tour Guide for Independent Travel and Light Photography

Qinghai is very beautiful, with 70% of its beauty in Haixi. Landing in Golmud with five days to explore the Qaidam Basin and Kunlun Mountains in depth.

Day 1: Depart from Golmud + Qarhan Dream Salt Lake + Most Beautiful U-shaped Highway 315 + Devil's City + East Taiji Nai'er Lake + Water Yardang (overnight).

Day 2: West Tai + West Taiji Nai'er Lake (also called Water Highway or Two-color Lake) + Mars No.1 Road + Mars Camp + Cross Ebotang + Colorful Yardang + Lenghu Oil Town Ruins + Lenghu Town (overnight).

Day 3: Depart from Lenghu Town + Lenghu Oil Town Ruins (these are two different locations) + Black Du Mountain (requires a 30-minute walk) + Rouge Mountain + Sand Sea Yardang + Mangya (overnight).

Day 4: Depart from Mangya + Mangya Jade Lake + Eye of the Desert + Wutumeren Grassland + Return to Golmud. (There's Huatugou Airport in Mangya, so you can also fly out directly from Mangya).

Day 5 (choose one):
1. Hoh Xil route: Kunlun Holy Spring + Kunlun Mountain Grand Canyon + Wuji Dragon Phoenix Palace + Yuzhu Peak Snow Mountain Viewing Platform + Sonam Dargye Memorial at Kunlun Mountain Pass + Yuxu Peak Snow Mountain Viewing Platform + Sonam Dargye Protection Station.

2. Niushan Valley and Queen Mother of the West Jade Pool route: Kunlun Holy Spring + Kunlun Mountain Grand Canyon + Wuji Dragon Phoenix Palace + Ancient Cultivation Site + Yuxu Peak + Queen Mother of the West Jade Pool (this route has abundant wildlife and very beautiful scenery).
