Pitfalls to avoid
Don't buy round-trip tickets for the wetland scenic area's battery car. The scenery is better when walking down the mountain!
Don't buy combo tickets for the Birch Forest. There is a free photo spot 500m outside the scenic area!
Buy souvenirs at the Matryoshka Square in the Mutual Trade Zone, it's half the price!
Buy tickets for the Colored Ribbon River grass slide in advance, it's CNY 20 more expensive on site!

📌Breakdown highlights
1⃣ The Morigele River is packed! During peak season, follow the navigation and get stuck at the scenic area entrance for 1 hour. The viewing platform is full of people, and all the photos are "tourist group photos."
2⃣ Horse riding in Heishantou is a rip-off! The roadside horse team says CNY 80/hr, but it becomes CNY 180 when you get off the horse, and they force you to buy "photo services."
3⃣ Accommodation in Manzhouli is a disaster! The "Internet-famous Mongolian yurt" booked online is actually damp and dirty, and the water is cut off in the middle of the night.
4⃣ Car rental scams are deep! Didn't check carefully when picking up the car, and was blackmailed for scratches on the car body when returning it. The deposit almost went down the drain.

🚗Travel method
🚙Chartered car: Highly recommended! Experienced drivers are familiar with the road conditions and can take you to niche treasure spots. You can stop and go as you please, which is free and easy. It is very suitable for those who want an in-depth tour.
🚘Self-driving: The scenic spots are scattered, the signal is not good in some places, and you are not familiar with the route. Self-driving is not recommended unless you know the area very well and have excellent driving skills.

❌Run away: "Special Mongolian meals" at the entrance of the scenic spot are expensive and unpalatable!

✔ Hailar City: Convenient transportation, easy to eat and shop. Book a week in advance during peak season and read more negative reviews!
✔ Manzhouli: Stay in the city center! Don't believe in "low-priced homestays." It is recommended to choose a hotel within walking distance of Matryoshka Square. The night view is super beautiful!
✔ Students: The log cabin homestay in Enhe Town is cost-effective, with an average of CNY 100+. Remember to choose one with a private bathroom!
