Marugame Castle is one of Japan's 12 remaining original castles, located in Kagawa Prefecture on Shikoku Island. The castle is easily accessible, just a 10-15 minute walk from Marugame Station. After exiting the station, follow the signs to reach the castle, passing through city streets and shopping areas along the way, making it a pleasant stroll. If you're traveling from Takamatsu, you can take the JR Yosan Line (either rapid or local trains), which takes about 30-40 minutes to reach Marugame Station.
While the path to the castle's keep involves a sloped road, visitors can enjoy views of the Seto Inland Sea and the cityscape along the way. Once at the top, the panoramic view is truly spectacular.
