[Kanagawa] A hidden gem! Daiyuzan Saijoji Temple, where the legend of Tengu is passed down

Known affectionately by locals as "Doryoson," Saijoji Temple is a historic temple founded approximately 600 years ago, said to ward off evil and bring good fortune.

While the principal image of the temple is Shaka Nyorai, it is also famous for its Tengu faith, with Tengu statues and large geta sandals donated throughout the grounds!

The vast grounds, covering approximately 660,000 square meters, are surrounded by giant cedar trees, making it feel like walking through a mystical forest.

The temple's seasonal natural beauty is also captivating, with the deep green of summer being beautiful, but the autumn foliage season is said to be particularly spectacular. 🍁

While it's easily accessible by bus and train, the approximately one-hour hike up the approach (mountain path) from the station is recommended for those with the stamina, as you'll be enveloped in a solemn atmosphere and naturally feel refreshed. 🌱

The temple's "Kekkaimon" (Gate) and "Goshinden" (Main Hall) exude a majestic atmosphere, truly purifying the soul.
There is also an inner shrine in the mountains, accessible via a 40-minute hike. Experience the tranquility and power of a sacred mountain protected by Tengu.

This secluded spot offers a refreshing experience for both body and mind through both a stroll and a visit. ✨
