Experience 12 Different Hot Springs with Private Baths Available

『Ikoi Ryokan』

Located in Minamioguni Town, Aso District, Kumamoto Prefecture
This is the ryokan I stayed at during one of my trips to Kumamoto.

“Hot Spring Edition”

Ikoi Ryokan features a total of 12 baths spread across the first and second floors! These include indoor baths, open-air baths, private baths, and baths exclusively for guests. There were so many options that I often referred to the pamphlet for guidance, haha.

From hinoki (cypress) baths to standing baths and waterfall baths, I had a blast hopping from one to the next.

I managed to take some photos of the private baths, so I’ve included them here.

The barrel bath, located away from the main ryokan, is accessible via a narrow staircase. It had a charming atmosphere and even turned into a bubble bath, which was a delightful surprise! I enjoyed soaking in it at my leisure.

After the bath, I treated myself to a bottle of the exclusive Kurokawa Onsen “Mukashi Cider” (〃▽〃).

This time, I opted for a stay without meals, but next time, I’d love to include dining and enjoy a more leisurely visit.
