Miyakojima: A Healing Island Journey Just by Walking

Miyakojima is a place where "doing nothing is perfectly fine." The sea, the sky, the breeze... everything moves at a slow pace, naturally encouraging me to walk leisurely as well.

On the first day, I started my morning snorkeling at Blue Turtle Beach. Swimming amidst tropical fish and coral in the crystal-clear waters felt like being inside an aquarium. In the afternoon, I drove to the edge of Higashi-Hennazaki Cape and walked along the island's dramatic coastline. The open views and endless ocean provided comfort, even in silent contemplation.

On the second day, I joined a tour to Funakusu Island. This small, uninhabited island, accessible by boat, was pure, untouched nature. I spent time reading by the serene waters, napping to the sound of waves, and simply doing nothing, realizing how fulfilling such moments can be.

Miyakojima felt less like a trip and more like pure "rest." It's an island I would want to return to whenever my heart feels weary.
