🦈Okinawa Must-See! A Close-Up Guide to Whale Sharks at Churaumi Aquarium

The most breathtaking highlight of Churaumi Aquarium, located in northern Okinawa, is the massive whale sharks in the Kuroshio Sea tank. As one of the world's largest indoor aquariums, it houses several whale sharks and is a must-see for visitors. 🌊

Standing in front of the tank, watching the eight-meter-long whale sharks slowly swim by, their massive fins slicing through the water as schools of manta rays and tropical fish dart by, is a breathtaking spectacle. 📸 Arrive early to secure a spot on the second or third floor to avoid the crowds and capture the whale sharks from above. Feedings are held daily at 11:00 AM and 3:00 PM, when the whale sharks are most active. Don't miss them!

🚗Transportation: Driving is recommended (approximately 2 hours from downtown Naha). Parking is available for 500 yen per trip. Alternatively, take the highway bus from Naha Airport to Amerikamura and then to the aquarium. The one-way journey takes approximately 2.5 hours and costs 2,000 yen.
🎫Admission: Adults 2,000 yen, children (4-12 years old) 1,000 yen. It's recommended to purchase tickets online in advance to avoid waiting in line.
💡Tips: The temperature inside the aquarium is quite low, so bring a light jacket. Whale shark activity is affected by water temperature and is generally more active in the summer. After your visit, stroll along the coastal promenade outside the aquarium to enjoy the authentic Okinawa seascape.
