Situated on the Colle di Muggia Vecchia hill, this site was once an ancient village inhabited until the late 15th century. Today, it has been transformed into an archaeological park where visitors can explore Roman and Late Antiquity artifacts discovered during excavations.

Muggia is located on the eastern side of the Gulf of Trieste in the northern Adriatic Sea. It is the only Italian port town on the Istrian Peninsula, showcasing architectural styles influenced by Venetian and Austrian history. The port features a modern marina with 500 berths.

The town’s attractions are concentrated and can be explored on foot, taking about half a day to complete. Despite its small size, Muggia boasts well-maintained colorful buildings and streets.
