Relaxing Family Trip to Mukdahan

This trip was a family outing, including grandparents, one playful grandchild, my foreign husband, and myself—five people in total. We traveled during the long holiday for Asalha Puja and Buddhist Lent Day, so we anticipated that most places would be crowded. To avoid the hustle, we decided to visit only 1-2 spots in Mukdahan and then head to a riverside accommodation, which turned out to be a great decision. The temple we visited wasn’t too crowded, and the hotel we chose was incredibly relaxing. Here’s our short itinerary:

1. Phra Nam Yoi Temple (or Phra Nam Thip Temple): Located in Roi Et province but very close to Mukdahan, this temple houses the magnificent "Phra Maha Chedi Chai Mongkol." If you haven’t been there yet, I highly recommend it! You’ll need to park your car at the base and take the temple’s shuttle service to the chedi. The shuttle fee is donation-based.

2. Wiang Khong Hotel: A peaceful hotel with beautiful riverside views. It offers private spaces for relaxation at a very affordable price. We booked a room for only 1,100 THB, including breakfast. The hotel is conveniently located near restaurants and cafes, making it easy to find food.
🏖️ Environment/Facilities:
The hotel is right by the Mekong River, with lush green lawns and private areas for kids to play.
