[Nagoya] Nagoya Sengen Shrine - Blessings for safe childbirth and fertility!

Located in Asamacho, Nishi Ward, Nagoya City, this shrine enshrines Konohanasakuyahime-no-Mikoto as a Mount Fuji worshipper!

Like Asama shrines across the country,
it is known for granting blessings of safe childbirth and fertility. 👀

Once upon a time, this area was called "Nagoya." Due to its proximity to Nagoya Castle, it has been worshipped as the guardian deity of the area as the castle town developed. Locals affectionately call it "Sengen-san." ☝🏽

It is also said to have been one of the guardian shrines of the former Nagoya Village.

Even today, many people visit to pray for safe childbirth and for baby shrine visits!
