Cuisine: Wild Wolf Ramen Sakae Main Store (野郎ラーメン 栄本店)
📍Address: 2F, EXIT NISHIKI Building South Wing, 3-17-19 Nishiki, Naka-ku, Nagoya City, Aichi Prefecture
💞Why it's recommended: Located in the bustling Sakae district of Nagoya, just a 5-minute walk from Oasis 21, this ramen shop is a popular spot known for its long queues. Surprisingly, if you visit after 8 PM, there's no need to wait in line. After a month-long business trip in Japan, I was craving stir-fried dishes, and to my delight, this shop offers crispy stir-fried vegetables. Wild Wolf Ramen Sakae Main Store is situated on the second floor next to Don Quijote. You climb a steep staircase and use a self-service ordering machine. I ordered the stir-fried vegetables with offal set meal (ホルモン野菜炒め定食) and found a seat myself. The shop is relatively small, mainly suited for solo counter seating, with a few two-person and four-person tables available.
Transportation Tips: Take the Nagoya Subway Higashiyama Line and get off at "Sakae Station," heading towards Exit 1. The shop is located to the left of Don Quijote Sakae Main Store (ドン・キホーテ 栄本店). It's about a 5-minute walk from Oasis 21.
The counter seating offers a view of the kitchen where the vegetables are stir-fried, primarily bean sprouts and cabbage, with offal and a raw egg yolk added at the end. The portion is generous. The stir-fried vegetables are a specialty of the shop, with crispy cabbage and bean sprouts paired with rich and savory offal. On its own, the dish might be a bit salty, but when mixed with the egg yolk and vegetables, it becomes perfectly balanced and pairs wonderfully with white rice. The ramen here also comes topped with plenty of stir-fried vegetables, making it a must-try for ramen lovers.
