Kok Talat Temple

Wat Kok Talat, Nakhon Ratchasima Province
💐It is an ancient temple with historical and cultural significance, especially the ordination hall and the “Dharma Tree”, which are the temple’s highlights.

🙏The ordination hall of Wat Kok Talat was built in 2224 during the reign of King Narai the Great. This ordination hall is almost 400 years old. Its distinctive feature is that it does not have the gable, raka leaves, and hongs, which are the architectural characteristics of that era.

🌿The Dharma Tree is a contemporary artwork created from the stump of a dead Bodhi tree standing next to the temple’s old ordination hall. This work is a mixed media that combines art and Dharma to commemorate the Lord Buddha and to serve as a medium for spreading Dharma.
