Nan'ao Island, a beautiful island in northeastern Guangdong, offers stunning views before a typhoon.

This was actually yesterday, and many of the place names share the same names as where I live. 😎😍 Typhoon Huajiasha is approaching the offshore area today. It's been raining a lot, with occasional sunny spells. ☀️🌧️🌦️ The main problem is the strong winds. 🌀
This is my first time visiting Nan'ao Island in Shantou, but I've flown over it quite a few times. It actually looks a lot like Xiaoliuqiu. 🏖️ There's also the Tropic of Cancer Square on the island, and Hualien is 200 kilometers away. 🏠 Qing'ao Bay and the lighthouse are both closed due to the approaching typhoon. 😅
Even though it was the day before the typhoon, the weather was still incredibly hot. 🏖️🔥 There weren't many people, so there were no traffic jams. 🚗🚗 I also fell in love with this quiet seaside setting. 🏖️
The bridge will be closed at 10 PM until the typhoon leaves, so I'm not staying overnight. 🚍 The bus leaves at 6:00 PM and you can watch the sunset over Shantou. It's so beautiful. The Nan'ao Bridge is still a 9-kilometer straight line. Strong local development 🌁 Xiaoliuqiu hasn't even reached that point yet 🌁

I had a fortuitous encounter during a week-long stay in Shantou, Guangdong. At the end of last week, a typhoon hit just a few days later, and it was a very large birch 🌀🌧️🤣

I've been traveling frequently between Taiwan and Hong Kong for the past few years. When the weather is good during the day, the first place I see in Guangdong from the air is Nan'ao Island. Just seeing it, I know it's only half an hour from Hong Kong. Over the past three years, I've seen Shuangyue Bay and Xunliao Bay in Huidong, Huizhou, and the incredibly beautiful Nan'ao Island along the way. Finally, I'm here ✨🎈
