You have to take the kids to Fujian Tulou at least once, to encounter the real-life version of Big Fish & Begonia

This Fujian Tulou family trip was truly a dreamlike adventure. The little one was excited and chattering all the way. We not only stayed in the same style Tulou as Chun’s, but it also felt like stepping into a paradise, turning the fairy tale world in the child’s eyes into reality.

📷 Photo Tips:
❶ Yunshuiyao
Du Lv・Hede Lou Tulou Cultural Homestay is a century-old Tulou with only 8 rooms. The room style is quaint and full of wabi-sabi charm. In front of the homestay is a pond filled with koi fish, dreamy and magical, where kids have a blast playing.
❷ Yuchang Lou
Also known as the “Leaning Tower,” it is the oldest existing Tulou in Fujian. A small creek flows in front of the building, creating a charming contrast with the Tulou, making it an excellent photo backdrop. Kids standing by the creek look great in any shot.
❸ Tianluokeng Tulou Cluster
From the viewing platform, the Tulou cluster looks like “four dishes and one soup,” which is very interesting. Kids standing in front of the Tulou with the unique architecture as the background make for distinctive photos.
❹ Huaiyuan Lou
An exquisitely built, well-preserved double-ring circular Tulou. When rapeseed flowers bloom at the entrance, they complement the Tulou beautifully. Taking photos here with your kids creates warm and lovely scenes.
❺ Hegui Lou
Still sturdy after 200 years, it is the tallest Tulou. In front of Hegui Lou, tell your kids the stories of the Tulou and take some meaningful photos.
❻ Yunshuiyao Ancient Town
As a movie filming location, the century-old banyan tree and waterwheel are full of stories. Stroll through the ancient town with your kids and capture wonderful family moments.
❼ Taxia Village
A simple and natural Hakka village built along the creek. Nestled in the valley, the scenery is picturesque. Take photos of your kids here to capture their pure smiles.
