| Enjoy the fun of nature. Xiyuan Canyon is located in Yanping District, Nanping City, not far from the city center. It is the core scenic area of the Nanping Mangdang Mountain Nature Reserve.
It takes about 30 minutes to drive from the city center.
Ticket price: CNY 20 per person for admission, CNY 5 per person for a one-way sightseeing bus ride.
Travel time: If you go in the morning, you can walk in and take the sightseeing bus out, which is less tiring and less hot. If you go in the afternoon, it is better to take the sightseeing bus in and walk out, which is cooler.
The scenery of Xiyuan Canyon is quite good. You can bring an extra set of clothes to play in the water! There are also small boats next to the barbecue villa, which can be rented for 20 minutes for CNY 10, 15, or 20, depending on the size.
At the end of the scenic area is Xiyuan Temple. There is a temple of Xiao Gongzu here, with flying eaves and red walls, which complement the mountain. The incense in the temple wafts in the air, giving it an ancient feel. In front of the temple is a large well surrounded by railings. Upon closer inspection, you will find that the wide area in front of the temple is actually built on top of a stream, and the bottom of the well is where the stream flows down from the mountain. The water flows rapidly and roars, which is very spectacular. Xiyuan Temple is a place with local characteristics, combining cultural and natural landscapes for a better experience. You can stay here for a while and don't have to rush down the mountain.
We went back to the sightseeing bus at Xiyuan Temple, where the incense was burning and it was quite quiet.
Food: There is a villa inside, but I haven't eaten there so I can't give any advice. There are small shops selling water along the way. We brought our own Le Duo Zi and roasted grass jelly, which was delicious.
Notes:
1. There are not many mosquitoes in the scenic area, but you should still be careful of mosquitoes in the wild;
2. The road is shared by tourists and vehicles, and there are often private cars and sightseeing buses in the scenic area, and the speed is very fast, so be careful to avoid them.
