2025 Setouchi Triennale
Most visitors start their journey at Naoshima, home to Yayoi Kusama's iconic giant pumpkin.
Besides the pumpkin, Naoshima also features famous attractions like the Chichu Art Museum and the Art House Project.
A one-day trip can feel rushed, so it's recommended to stay overnight on the island.
This time, I chose My Lodge for accommodation on Naoshima.
Located near Miyanoura Port, it's about a 10-minute walk.
However, My Lodge is situated halfway up a hill, so the path involves quite a bit of uphill walking.
If you have a lot of luggage, it's advisable to use the luggage delivery service at the storage area to send your bags directly to the lodge.
I stayed at the Peak Cottage, which is at the highest point of the lodge.
The view was stunning, but climbing the stairs was quite exhausting.
There are many cats both inside and around the lodge.
Dinner requires a reservation; while the price is a bit high, the food is excellent.
