Visiting Himuro Shrine in Nara was a delightful surprise, as we happened to catch the weeping cherry blossoms in full bloom. This small shrine, located next to the grand Todai-ji Temple, offered a stark contrast with its peaceful and quiet atmosphere. One of its unique features is the "ice omikuji," where you place your fortune slip on the surface of ice, and the words slowly reveal themselves as the paper absorbs the moisture. It was a fascinating and memorable experience, blending the beauty of the serene surroundings with a touch of traditional charm.
