Visit Full Moon National Forest Recreation Area to see waterfalls

Full Moon National Forest Recreation Area is located in Sanxia Township, Taipei County. It is named after the Full Moon Mountain, which resembles a full moon. The area's terrain features significant elevation changes, creating steep river valleys and numerous spectacular waterfalls.

The park's elevation ranges from 300 to 1700 meters. Surrounded by mountains, the area is known for its abundant waterfalls, making it the forest bathing spot with the most waterfalls near Taipei. Notable waterfalls in the area include Full Moon Waterfall, Virgin Waterfall, Silver Curtain Waterfall, and Little Girl Waterfall. The park is ideal for hiking, maple viewing, waterfall viewing, and bird watching.

The park's trails include the Virgin Waterfall Trail, Self-Guided Trail, Hiking Trail, and Full Moon Waterfall Trail. The trails are primarily paved with flagstones, random stone slabs, P.C. planted stones, and colored stamped concrete, with safety railings made of wooden and faux pine wood railings. There is a pavilion next to the waterfalls, called the 'Waterfall Viewing Pavilion,' where visitors can enjoy a panoramic view of the waterfalls.
