A tea house made famous by "Spirited Away"

Jiufen's "Amei Tea House," known as the inspiration for the setting of "Spirited Away."

You can enjoy a single-person tea set (with snacks) for 350 TWD. The tea snacks are quite varied, including dried sweets, sweet pickled plums, kinako warabi mochi-like treats, and sesame seaweed-like items. With one serving of tea leaves, you can brew about 15 cups (5 cups × 3 rounds), allowing you to relax and take your time. I was guided to the upper floor's scenic area!

From there, you can enjoy a panoramic view of Jiufen, making it a memorable part of the trip.

Payment seems to be cash only! (I overheard someone asking if they could pay in Japanese yen, and it seemed to work out, so that might be an option!)

Since I had reserved a shuttle bus for the return trip, I left the shop at 6:30 PM, but there was a huge line outside! If you want to enjoy the sunset, it’s best to enter before 5 PM!
