Since Shifen is not far from Jiufen, many people combine sightseeing there with Jiufen. There are tours that take you to both Shifen and Jiufen, but it is also recommended to take a leisurely train ride across the iron bridge while enjoying the view of the valley. If you are going by train, first take the Taiwan Railway (TRA)🚃 from Taipei, get off at Ruifang Station, and transfer to the Pingxi Line to Shifen. Be careful, as the Pingxi Line only runs 1-2 times per hour. Shifen has more compact souvenir shops than Jiufen, so if you just want to fly a lantern and look around the souvenir shops a little, it will only take a little over an hour, but if you want to see the trains running on the tracks, your stay will change, so it's probably best to check before you go. There are now many apps and websites that allow you to check the train times and routes in Taiwan, so check them out. #absolutelyfreetravel #asiatravel #asiatravel #taiwantrip #shifenoldstreet #taiwan
