Metropolitan Museum of Art

The Met is one of the largest art galleries in the world, with a second, smaller branch called "The Cloisters" located in Upper Manhattan. The Cloisters specializes in medieval art.

The museum's permanent collection includes works ranging from classical art and ancient Egyptian artifacts to paintings and sculptures by master artists from nearly every Western European country, as well as American art and modern art.
