"Tobu World Square," located near Kinugawa Onsen in Nikko, Tochigi Prefecture.
Spanning approximately 87,500 square meters, 102 famous historical sites from 22 countries around the world, including 48 carefully selected World Heritage Sites, are faithfully and perfectly recreated at a 1/25 scale!
During the COVID-19 pandemic, when overseas travel was impossible, it also garnered attention as a place where people yearning for a different world could travel without a passport.
While many dismiss it as "just a miniature,"
those who have actually visited the place are astounded by its exquisite detail.
The people and buildings are incredibly detailed and exquisite.
Depending on how you photograph them, they look just like the real thing.
What's fascinating is that each of the 140,000 miniature figures is individually handmade and meticulously crafted.
Past prime ministers are lined up in the National Diet Building,
presidents lurk in the Americas zone,
and hidden characters from classic film scenes appear in the Europe zone.
There are fun gimmicks hidden around every corner.
A quick look around will take you 40 minutes to an hour,
but carefully examining each piece took more than half a day.
I think it's worth visiting to get a feel for the world before embarking on your real-world travels.
Also, the famous Nikko Pure Ice shaved ice is delicious.
