Tsuetate Hot Spring has a history of nearly 1,800 years ♨️

In previous years, the "Tsuchitate Onsen Carp Streamer Festival" was held from early April to the Golden Week in May. Thousands of colorful carp streamers fluttered on the Tsuchitate River, always attracting many travelers. However, due to the large number of tourists visiting during this period over the years, serious traffic jams and the burden on local elderly and children have been caused. This year, the Carp Streamer Festival will be held a month earlier in late March to late April. Are there any travelers who happened to come and see this magnificent scenery?

Located deep in the mountains of Kumamoto, this is one of the best hot spring resorts in Kyushu. It is known as the healing town because of the excellent quality of the hot springs. The hot spring town has been prosperous since the Showa period, and although it gradually declined during the Heisei period, it is still loved today for its unique quiet atmosphere and street style. There are three bridges connecting the Tsuchitachi River. On the "Red Leaves Bridge", there are many painted carp hanging like painted horses. Since the Japanese word for carp is koi, which sounds the same as love, it is said to be a powerful spot that is particularly effective for love wishes! Also, don't miss the original pudding made with hot spring steam!
