🏯 Hekisuien – Scenic Dining Between History and Nature in Okayama

We stumbled upon Hekisuien while walking between Okayama Castle and Korakuen Garden, and it turned out to be a wonderful surprise. The location is perfect – nestled along the Asahi River, the restaurant offers unobstructed views of the castle, making the entire dining experience feel peaceful and elegant.
The food didn’t disappoint either. The kids thoroughly enjoyed the pasta, which was well-cooked and flavorful. A standout dish for me was the fried mochi – crispy on the outside and soft and chewy inside, it had a comforting texture and taste that left an impression.
The combination of scenic views, convenient location, and solid food offerings makes Hekisuien a fantastic stop whether you’re heading to the gardens or finishing up your castle visit.
