Location wins: Mitsui Garden Okayama

We'd heard rave reviews about the Mitsui Garden Hotel, and after snagging a good last-minute deal, we decided to give it a try. Conveniently located just 8 minutes' walk from Okayama Station, the hotel's lobby atmosphere is lovely, with a cozy cafe serving complimentary coffee and biscuits (though we can't recall the exact timings 😊). The adorable doors and decorations at the cafe caught our attention, adding to the hotel's charm. The staff are super friendly, but do note that they're strict about hotel rules – make sure your registered name matches your passport name to avoid any hassle. We found the room to be small but spotlessly clean. Although we didn't try the hot spring due to exhaustion, the breakfast buffet the next morning was delicious and definitely worth trying. A big plus was the hotel's flexibility in allowing us to store our luggage after check-out, which was a huge relief – we ended up collecting our bags around 7 pm 🤭. Overall, I'd give the hotel 4 stars, deducting one for the name change policy, which was a bit of a hassle. Despite that, the location is unbeatable, and I'd still choose to stay here.
