First, I'll write a review of my trip from July 27th to 30th (3 nights and 4 days).
Busan/Gimhae -> Kansai (JEJU AIR)
I left early in the morning and booked a late return flight. I wanted to enjoy myself a bit more...🥹🥹🥹
I'll try to write a simple review for first-time Osaka visitors.
Arriving at the airport, I checked in with my airline, dropped my luggage, and headed to the duty-free shop. LOL 🤩🤩🤩
There's so much alcohol, cosmetics, and more. LOL
I bought some perfume, and boarding began, so I waited in line. ^^
I reserved a window seat and now I'm flying to Kansai. :-)
After arriving at Kansai Airport, I got off the plane and rushed to immigration. LOL There were so many people, so I quickly got out, prepared my passport and ticket, and waited in line. LOL When I went, I think I waited in line for about 20 minutes. 😭
I quickly checked in and rushed out to get my luggage. 😜
After retrieving my luggage, I took a bus from the departure area to the appropriate station for my train (for example, I took the bus from Terminal 1 to Terminal 2).
After getting off, I showed my pre-booked QR code and went straight to the line to exchange my Nankai Limited Express Rapi:t ticket. The line wasn't that long, so I don't think it took even 5 minutes!! But after I exchanged my luggage, there was a huge line. LOL. Seeing that, I realized I could've been in big trouble if I'd been a little later. The exchange location is right on the far left! You'll see it!! It's clearly shown on YouTube, so check it out.
***Don't wait in line at the ticket machines!!
With some time to spare, I headed to the Kansai Airport Family Convenience Store in Japan. There were so many refreshing and delicious things there. I had a katsu sando, and it was delicious!!! I also bought some green tea to share with them. 🤤
Now it was time to board the train. There was a designated spot on my ticket.
I looked at my ticket to find the train number. If you look on the platform floor, you'll see which car and which stop zone it is! Check the floor!
Just in case, people were lining up to put their suitcases away. LOL. It was a battle. I was first, so I put my suitcase in right away and went to my seat.
I saw a huge line behind me.
If your suitcase is large, I recommend waiting in line early!! -If you don't take the Rapit, you can take the more frequent subway. The lines are shorter, the trains run more frequently, and the time difference isn't that big! Please note.
Now, we're heading to downtown Osaka. I'll take a quick look outside and then fall asleep.
I didn't go all the way to my usual destination, but instead chose a hotel near Honmachi Street, so I'll head to Tenkachaya Station!!
I'm leaving this review because I don't see any reviews of people choosing other locations like me!!
FYI, I chose a cheap and clean hotel right in front of Sakaisuji-Hommachi Station (subway)!! I knew the way, so I chose to avoid the noisy downtown area.
The hotel is small, of course, but it's great for just sleeping. The staff are friendly too!!
Once you exit Tenkachaya, there's a station office on the left. They'll help you get your Nankai Rapit return ticket in advance!
They'll kindly show you the return date and schedule and let you choose. ^^ Take your ticket and keep it safe. From Tenkachaya Station, head to Sakaisuji-Hommachi Subway Station! Since I didn't purchase a transportation card or pass, I just grab a ticket like I do in Korea!
Looking at the route map, the fare varies from 160 to 190 yen depending on the station and route. Once you know which station you need to go to, search by route and station, get your ticket, and then board.
At Tenka Chaya, the train and subway exits are separate, so get off at the Rapi:t and take the stairs. Once you exit the gate, go down one flight of stairs and you'll reach the subway station entrance. On the right, you'll see the automated ticket machine I mentioned earlier! Once you've got your ticket, insert it into the entrance on the left, and enter the subway station. ㅎㅎㅎ Since you have luggage, take the elevator in front to the basement. Once you get off, check your direction carefully, board the train, and check which stop you're going to before you take your seat.
It's so refreshing!!! Totally!!!🥶
I got off at Sakaisuji-Hommachi Station, two stops away.
I left my luggage at a nearby hotel, about a 3-4 minute walk away.
From Sakaisuji-Hommachi Station, I took the brown line to Nipponbashi Station and started walking. ㅎㅎㅎ
Getting off at Nipponbashi and walking straight, you'll see Shinsekai, Kuromon Market, Namba, Dotonbori, Shinsaibashi, and many other places lined up on both sides!! On the day of my arrival, I went straight to a place with a lot of Japanese people on the street, and it was really delicious! 🤭
I took a photo of the Glocco sign, then headed downstairs to the photo spot where the new line was painted on the wall. After taking a bunch of photos of Dotonbori, I headed to Tsutenkaku in Shinsekai, which I had made a reservation for in advance. LOL.
I went down the stairs to the right basement, waited in line, exchanged my QR code, and took the elevator up to the observation deck, where I enjoyed taking photos. LOL. I had an evening reservation for Abeno Harukas 300 on the first day, so I quickly looked around and headed back! After exploring Shinsekai for a bit, I took a taxi to Harukas 300. LOL. It wasn't long! If you're worried, you can use Kakao Taxi! It was hot, lol. I took a taxi.
After arriving at Harukas 300, I took the elevator to the 16th floor, showed my code, received my ticket, and went up to the next floor. I'm going crazy from here, lol.. Watching the sunset from a high-rise building, having a beer... it's amazing..
You really have to go.. The night view is amazing even after the sun goes down🫣
After seeing it, lol, let's go raid some delicious convenience stores!!
I'll go to Lawson, Family, and Seven. I'll have a bento box, dango, and a highball. I'll buy bread, water, and snacks at the hotel, but it's raining, so I take a taxi back to the hotel. lol. That's how the day ends.
