Osaka Castle is located in Chuo Ward, Osaka City, and is the most iconic historical landmark in Osaka with convenient transportation. Here are the main ways to get there easily!
From the City Center
Take the Osaka Metro Tanimachi Line from Umeda or Namba to "Tanimachi 4-chome Station" or "Temmabashi Station," then walk about 10-15 minutes to Osaka Castle Park. The ride takes about 10-15 minutes, and the fare is 230-280 yen. Alternatively, take the JR Loop Line to "Osakajokoen Station," then walk about 10 minutes; the fare is about 180 yen.
From Kansai Airport
Take the JR Kansai Airport Rapid Service to Kyobashi Station, transfer to the Osaka Metro Nagahori Tsurumi-ryokuchi Line to "Osaka Business Park Station." The whole trip takes about 1 hour and costs about 1,400 yen. Or take the limousine bus to Osaka Station, then transfer to the subway; this takes about 1 hour and 30 minutes.
From Kyoto and Kobe
From Kyoto, take the JR Special Rapid Service to Osaka Station, then transfer to the Loop Line to "Osakajokoen Station," about 50 minutes total. From Kobe, take the JR Special Rapid Service, about 40 minutes; both require transfers.
Practical Tips
It is recommended to use Google Maps to check real-time schedules. The Osaka Amazing Pass allows unlimited rides on subways and some JR lines, which is more cost-effective. You can walk from the entrance of Osaka Castle Park to the main keep, and there are museums and plum groves nearby to explore.
