The most anticipated part of this Osaka trip was Universal Studios! As soon as I entered the park, I was amazed by the incredibly realistic movie scenes, especially the "Wizarding World of Harry Potter." Hogwarts Castle is so lifelike, it feels like you’ve truly become a part of Hogwarts. You definitely can’t miss the super popular "Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey" attraction. The 4D sensory design combined with the storyline makes you feel like you’re personally experiencing a Quidditch match and magical adventures!
If you’re a Nintendo fan, "Super Nintendo World" is a dream come true! Wearing the interactive wristband to hit blocks and battle Bowser, the visual and interactive experience is full of surprises. The food in the park is also very tempting, like the "Mario Burger" and "Butterbeer," which are so photogenic you can’t help but snap pictures and enjoy every bite.
I recommend entering the park early and making good use of the Express Pass, as popular attractions have long wait times. Planning ahead lets you enjoy the park to the fullest. Overall, Osaka Universal Studios combines thrilling rides, classic characters, and rich scenes. Whether you’re a movie fan, anime lover, or visiting with family, you can create the most wonderful memories here!
📝Play Route:
1️⃣ Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey: Although the storyline is the same as the one in the northern park, the seat rotation angles and scenery made it feel scarier to me, like monsters were right up close—basically no wait time.
2️⃣ Despicable Me Minion Mayhem: A dome-screen virtual roller coaster with simulated drops and acceleration, the visuals are great, and I personally found it very fun—showed a 10-minute wait, but the pre-ride animation took quite a while.
After these two, most ride wait times were around 40 minutes. The Flying Dinosaur ride was short but not ready yet, so I watched the 🦕 dinosaur interaction and then headed into the Mario area.
🍄 At this time, Yoshi’s Adventure had a 90-minute wait, so I took photos around the park instead. Opposite the queue entrance restroom is Yoshi’s Snack Island, where the Yoshi burger and milkshake are both good. You can also buy mushroom and sunflower drink crossbody cups here. The Mushroom Restaurant requires on-site QR code reservations, but I gave up on that casually.
3️⃣ Yoshi’s Adventure: A small train ride around the park. If you’re not interested in the scenery, it might be boring. I waited 70 minutes. Part of the queue was outside in an alley, so it was sunny—definitely wear a hat.
4️⃣ Mario Kart: Highly interactive, simulating a kart racing game. By wearing a VR-like device, you collect coins in the scene, and there’s a ranking at the end. It’s fun but the ride is too short.
You can only draw a ticket to enter the Mario area once. If you want to enter twice, you’ll need to get up earlier and rush to Mario right when the park opens, then get a ticket for the afternoon or evening around noon.
