Review of traveling in Osaka
The city of smiles and deliciousness that melts your heart 💖
Hello everyone! Today, we’re taking you to Osaka,
a city known as the “Kitchen of Japan” because the food here is incredibly delicious! It’s also a city full of color and vibrancy. Travel with us with excitement, hearts pounding at every place and every dish we get to taste.
⸻
Starting at Kansai Airport with the beloved ICOCA card
When the plane lands at Kansai Airport, we quickly buy the ICOCA card, a prepaid card for traveling around Osaka and the Kansai area. It’s very easy to use, whether on trains, buses, or even at convenience stores.
On the way into the city, we ride the train and enjoy the scenery blending modernity and greenery perfectly. It really feels like traveling in Japan is very convenient and fast.
⸻
Cute accommodation in Namba, the heart of fun
We booked a small but cozy place in the Namba area. This area is famous for its lively atmosphere, with many restaurants, trendy cafes, and shopping spots. The room isn’t big but is arranged cutely and very comfortable to sleep in after a whole day of walking around.
On the first night, we opened the window to see the sparkling city lights. Osaka at night is so beautiful, like a city that never sleeps.
⸻
First meal with Takoyaki, the fragrant sea-flavored snack at Dotonbori
If you come to Osaka and don’t eat Takoyaki, you’re missing out! Dotonbori is home to many delicious Takoyaki shops. The smell of sauce and fresh octopus fills the air.
The Takoyaki here is crispy on the outside, soft inside, with big, bouncy octopus pieces, topped with sweet and salty sauce, mayonnaise, and seaweed. It’s a flavor you never get tired of. The first bite is so delightful that we had to order several more servings!
⸻
Okonomiyaki, the Japanese pancake as warm as mom’s cooking
Another dish we didn’t miss trying is Okonomiyaki, a Japanese pancake mixed with cabbage, pork, egg, and a special sauce, topped with mayonnaise and sprinkled with seaweed.
We tried it at a small shop in a narrow alley. The owner cooked with hands and a smile. The aroma was inviting, and the taste was mellow and heartwarming, just like being at home.
⸻
Shopping and strolling at Shinsaibashi with lots of cute things
Shinsaibashi is a shopping area that includes famous brand stores, local shops, chic cafes, and many cute souvenirs. We wandered around picking out items while sipping cold green tea, enjoying ourselves so much we lost track of time.
Here you can find fashion, food, toys, and authentic Japanese souvenirs. It’s a very enjoyable place to shop.
⸻
A relaxing day at Sumiyoshi Taisha Shrine with a peaceful and natural atmosphere
When we wanted to rest our minds, we went to Sumiyoshi Taisha Shrine, a beautifully vivid red shrine set in a shady and quiet environment.
We wrote wishes on ema plaques, praying for health and good fortune. The feeling of being here made us feel calm and refreshed.
⸻
Fun at Universal Studios Japan, a dream world come true
Universal Studios Japan is a theme park not to be missed. There’s a Harry Potter zone that feels like stepping into a magical world, and a Super Nintendo World zone that’s colorful and fun.
We rode thrilling rides, laughed with friends, and took photos with adorable characters. It was a day full of happiness and unforgettable laughter.
⸻
Nighttime at Dotonbori with neon lights and lively atmosphere
One night, we strolled around Dotonbori, filled with colorful neon lights, music, and laughter everywhere.
We stopped to try snacks by the canal and took photos with the Glico sign, a symbol of Osaka. The lively and romantic atmosphere made us feel like this is truly the heart of a city that never sleeps.
⸻
