“If you want to escape the hustle and bustle of Osaka’s popular areas, we recommend trying Kitahama, a small riverside neighborhood full of beautiful, cozy-feeling cafes.”
It’s just a few minutes’ walk from Kitahama Station to the riverside of Dojima. The atmosphere is peaceful, with Japanese people walking their dogs and riding bicycles—very chill vibes. Cafes line both sides of the street, perfect for serious cafe hopping.
The highlight you must visit is Brooklyn Roasting Company, a famous New York-style cafe loved by locals for working. The coffee is excellent, using aromatic roasted beans with a strong scent. Try the Latte or Cold Brew for pure delight. They also have croissants and bagels that pair perfectly with the coffee. The interior is decorated in a loft style, spacious and airy, great for taking cool photos.
Tips:
- Come in the afternoon for beautiful riverside light and amazing photos.
- If you like drip coffee, order the cafe’s special menu with many bean varieties to choose from.
- Don’t forget to continue walking to Nakanoshima Park.
Getting there:
Get off at Kitahama Station and walk about 3-5 minutes.
Summary: Kitahama is another quieter side of Osaka compared to popular areas but full of chic cafes, especially Brooklyn Roasting Company, which you must visit at least once. Coffee lovers, don’t miss it!
