Osaka Castle is a landmark representing Osaka, Japan, and holds a significant place in Japanese history. Built in 1583 by Toyotomi Hideyoshi, it is known as a symbol of the unification of Japan during the Sengoku period. The current structure has been reconstructed multiple times and features modern reinforcements.
The central tower, or Tenshukaku, is an 8-story building that houses a history museum. Visitors can explore various exhibits and materials about Toyotomi Hideyoshi, the Sengoku period, and the battles of Osaka Castle. The observation deck on the top floor offers a panoramic view of Osaka city, attracting many tourists.
The expansive Osaka Castle Park surrounding the castle offers different charms throughout the seasons. In spring, it is famous for cherry blossoms; in summer, the lush trees and ponds create a harmonious scene; in autumn, the park is adorned with colorful foliage; and in winter, visitors can enjoy snowy landscapes.
Admission to the Tenshukaku is 600 yen for adults, while middle school students and younger can enter for free. Osaka Castle Park is open to the public free of charge. It is conveniently accessible by foot from JR Osaka Castle Park Station or Morinomiya Station.
