🚆✨ Mestre to Padova Easy Day Trip on Budget

If you’re feeling lazy for a long journey, Padova is the perfect choice — just a short train ride from Mestre (about 25–30 minutes, trains run all day and cost only a few euros).

🌳 I started my day with a walk through a peaceful park on the way to the city center. My first stop was the legendary Caffè Pedrocchi, open since the 1820s ☕️. I tried their signature coffee with mint cream — a special treat you won’t find anywhere else!

📚 Next, I headed to the University of Padua, where Galileo Galilei once taught. I joined with an audio guide 🎧 to really understand the history — walking through the old lecture halls and rooms was unforgettable. Plan at least 1–2 hours here.

✡️ After that, I explored the Jewish Quarter and stopped at the ghetto square. If you have extra time, the Jewish Museum is worth a visit.

🥪 For lunch, I grabbed a takeaway sandwich and enjoyed it at Prato della Valle, one of the largest squares in Europe 🌿, surrounded by statues and canals.

🌧️ It started to rain in the afternoon, but Padova is perfect even in bad weather — the city has endless arcaded galleries, so you can stroll around without getting wet.
By the evening, I headed back to the station. Thanks to frequent trains, I was back in Mestre in no time — ready to relax at my Anda Venice hostel 🛏️.

💡 Tip: Padova is rich in history and beauty, yet compact enough to explore in a day without feeling tired. Perfect for a calm getaway!
