Sala Khaoyai Resort’s Hilltop Restaurant is a hotel in Sala Khaoyai Resort, as the name suggests. We have heard of its reputation for its chic atmosphere, as expected from a boutique hotel, and its stunning 360-degree panoramic view from the mountaintop. Even though we did not stay here on this trip, we had to find an opportunity to have lunch there.
***-Location/Atmosphere-***
Sala Khaoyai is located quite far from other hotels. If you drive from Thanarat Road, turn left about 200 meters before the national park checkpoint. When you reach the big intersection, turn right and drive along the road that passes Toscana Valley. Follow the signs for a while and you will see the resort on top of the hill. You can see it from afar.
The parking lot here is not very wide and is on the hill. Therefore, most cars will have to park along the hillside. If there are a lot of customers, parking may be a bit difficult. If you want to go, we recommend calling to make a reservation in advance because the staff will be able to facilitate you.
As for the restaurant, which is on the top of the hill, you have to walk up the stairs from the parking lot. The open-air style offers a panoramic view. The interior is decorated with wooden furniture and soft sofas and pillows. On one side is a bar, while outside is a large pool with crystal clear blue water that stands out against the backdrop of mountains. The atmosphere is peaceful and relaxing...really beautiful.
***-Menu I tried-***
This time, we tried only Thai food as follows:
➡️ Tom Kha Gai - The taste is well-rounded. The soup is not very thick. It has large pieces of chicken, pure meat, no skin or bones to bother you. It is quite delicious, but it is more suitable for eating as soup than pouring over rice.
➡️ Grilled Pork Neck Served with Nam Jim Jaew - This dish is incredibly delicious and perfect... I am so impressed. The pork neck is incredibly soft and smooth on the tongue. It is not too fatty, but it is so soft that it melts in your mouth, making it not greasy. It also has a fragrant grilled aroma. If you come here, I recommend ordering it.
➡️ Stir-fried Minced Chicken with Holy Basil - I like that they put a lot of chicken, only selecting the meat, and sprinkled with crispy holy basil. Looks very meticulous.
➡️ Pad Mee Korat – When you come to this place, you have to try this menu. The Korat noodles are soft and chewy. Stir-fried with pork, the taste is well-rounded. Add 2 big shrimps, it looks magnificent. It is quite good.
Overall, this restaurant is suitable for those who want to enjoy the atmosphere close to nature, eat food with a beautiful view in a chill way. In addition to Thai food, if anyone wants to eat steak, burgers or other Western food, this place also offers it. If you have a chance to pass this way, it is worth stopping by for a meal.
