Daily recommendations for a Paris art tour! This time, after leaving the Louvre, stroll through Paris' most beautiful streets. Along the way, you'll not only be able to see the Place du Pyramide, the Petit Palais, and the Grand Palais, but also enjoy the uniquely romantic atmosphere of Parisian streets. Walking from the Place du Louvre all the way to the Arc de Triomphe, you'll be transported to a microcosm of the essence of Paris—art, architecture, history, and a sense of leisure, all at close range. "No need to travel far; the most beautiful scenery in Paris is right on the way." This was my biggest realization of this trip.
Recommended Attractions
First Stop: Place du Pyramide
This is the main entrance to the Louvre and the starting point for many art lovers. The glass pyramid, set against the classic Louvre architecture, creates a classic atmosphere with every step. Address: 75001 Paris, France. Open 24 hours a day, experience the vibrant lights and shadows day and night. Tip: Mornings are less crowded, making it a great time for photos and a stroll.
Second Stop: Petit Palais
Walk west from Place des Pyramide towards the banks of the Seine and you'll come across the exquisite Petit Palais. This building boasts an intricate and magnificent exterior, housing a rich collection of art. Best of all, some areas are free, allowing you to experience French elegance without having to purchase a ticket.
Address: Av. Winston Churchill, 75008 Paris, France
Opening Hours: 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM (Recommended checking the season and dates in advance, as some closings/hours may vary, and the building is closed on Mondays and some holidays).
Admission: Free
Tip: Walk through the Petit Palais' glass-roofed garden and enjoy a moment of tranquility. We highly recommend taking your time.
Third Stop: Grand Palais
One of the "twin palaces," this one boasts a more imposing exterior and is a Parisian landmark. It often hosts special exhibitions and large-scale events, showcasing the fusion of modern French culture and history. Address: 75008 Paris, France
Opening Hours: 9:30 AM - 8:00 PM or 10:30 PM (Closed on Mondays and some holidays; please check the official website or on-site announcements before departure.)
Thoughts & Tips
This route is perfect for those who love walking and those who enjoy a slow pace: the entire route is flat and easy to walk, and with the spring breeze along the Seine, there's no need to rush to visit attractions. We recommend starting in the morning at the Louvre Pyramid Square, walking all the way to the Grand and Petit Palais, and finally strolling along the Champs-Élysées towards the Arc de Triomphe, perfectly connecting to the city's major attractions.
Tip: Paris's roads are smooth, but the route is long, so remember to wear comfortable shoes to avoid foot soreness. There are many outdoor cafés along the way, so you can stop for a coffee and a rest. Some exhibitions at the Petit Palais and Grand Palais may require advance reservations or queues, so it's recommended to plan your visit in advance.
Getting There:
This entire route can be completed on foot. Alternatively, you can take Metro Line 1 or Line 13 to Champs-Élysées – Clemenceau Station and walk to the Grand Palais and Petit Palais in just two minutes. The walk from Place des Pyramides to the Grand Palais takes about 30 minutes, so allow an hour to enjoy the scenery along the way.
Food Recommendations:
Near the Grand Palais and Petit Palais, there are numerous French restaurants and pastry shops. Highly recommended: Le Mini Palais (located inside the Petit Palais, popular for lunch and afternoon tea daily). Not only is the ambiance stunning, but the coffee and tartare are also excellent.
Paris Travel Tips:
1. The Petit Palais and Place des Pyramides are located near the Seine River, so sun protection is essential in spring and summer, and a hat and sunglasses are essential.
2. Avoid Mondays and holidays to avoid closures.
3. Drink plenty of water and carry less heavy objects for a more enjoyable visit. 4. If you're tired of walking, grab a bench on the sidewalk, enjoy a cup of coffee and a European pastry, and enjoy the slow pace of Parisian life.
