📍A Day in an Indonesian Volcano Town – Just Being a Carefree Kid 🧒☁️

Took a day off from “adulting” and spent it like a happy kid – no tight schedules, just nature, photos, and chill time.
① Early morning – Kapas Biru Waterfall 🌊 + Volcano View
Woke up around 5 AM to catch the iconic Kapas Biru – a waterfall where you can see it aligned perfectly with the volcano in the background.
There’s a queue system for taking photos – first come, first served, so go early!
This spot was bigger than I expected, took more time to explore. Bonus moment: some fellow Chinese travelers thought I was Japanese 😅
② Next stop – Semeru Volcano Town 🌋
You can already see smoke rising from the volcano while driving in – surreal!
The town itself was buzzing with life: kids flying kites, friends chatting over coffee, and everyone just enjoying the view.
👉 Tip: If it's crowded near the cafes, walk a bit further in or head toward the rice fields for a better, unobstructed view and quieter atmosphere.
③ Volcano-watching insight:
This experience made me realize that seeing a volcano clearly takes a mix of timing, patience, and luck.
One moment it’s crystal clear, the next it’s swallowed by mist. But if you wait a little longer, chances are – the view will reward you. ⏳🌋
④ Last stop – Sewu Waterfall (just a 10-minute walk from our hotel)
To be honest, I found it underwhelming.
It’s nice, but not jaw-dropping – I’ve seen even more impressive ones in China.
Still, the Panorama Point near the entrance is quite photogenic and worth a quick stop!
