Mount Semeru, East Java

Mount Semeru is the highest peak in Java and one of the most challenging hikes I’ve ever done. The trek took us through lush forests, lakes, and ash-covered slopes. Reaching the summit for sunrise felt epic—standing above the clouds while Semeru occasionally lets out puffs of smoke. It's a spiritual experience for many, and it definitely tested my limits. Not for the faint of heart, but it’s a top-tier summer adventure for serious hikers.
