Petra Museum: A Journey Through Time

Located just a three-minute walk from the main gate to Petra, the modern Petra Museum is a treasure of history and culture. The museum offers a unique experience, allowing visitors to explore the region of Petra over time.

The museum houses an impressive collection of artifacts, dating back to different ages. These artifacts, discovered in and around Petra by archaeological excavation teams, provide a glimpse into the rich history and civilization of the Nabateans.

The museum's exhibition consists of five halls, each showcasing different aspects of Petra's history and the Nabatean way of life. From pottery figurines of a man playing a double-flute to a sandstone stelae known as the "Goddess of Hayyan" excavated from the Temple of the Winged Lion in Petra, the museum offers a great insight into the past.

In addition to the artifacts, the museum also features interactive digital elements and original size reconstruction models, all based on recent archaeological research, which bring the history of Petra to life for visitors.
